Netflix reveals first look at Colin Firth in new World War 2 flic Operation Mincemeat
Netflix has discovered the first look at its upcoming World War 2 picture show, Mathematical operation Mincemeat, starring Colin Firth, Matthew Macfadyen, and Johnny Flynn.
Set in 1943 when things were make or break for the Allies fight Hitler in Europe, the movie is based on real events. The story follows news officers Ewen Montagu (Firth) and Charles Stuart Cholmondeley (Macfadyen) World Health Organization come up with an improbable disinformation scheme centralised on an unlikely secret agent – a idle man. Their plan helped play the tide over of the whole war.

Kelly Macdonald, Jason Isaacs, and Check Gatiss also star and the movie was directed by Whoremaster Craze. His premature forg includes the Academy Award-winning Shakespeare in Love (in which Firth also starred) and The Best Unusual Marigold Hotel. Operation Mincemeat is the director's first moving-picture show since 2016's Miss Sloane with Jessica Chastain. The movie comes from the same production company as The King's Speech, the 2010 historical drama that won Firth the Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal of King Saint George VI.
Firth's other upcoming projects include Mothering Sunday, in which he'll star topology alongside The Crown alumni Chaff Flannery O'Connor and Olivia Colman, and the HBO Max crime serial The Stairway.
Performance Mincemeat doesn't have a Netflix release date in the US still. However, the picture is getting a theatrical release in the UK through Warner Bros. and bequeath make it in cinemas happening January 7, 2022.
